UPDATE!!:.....
heres an update for everyones benefit!
guess what!!! like a sad dog that returns to his beloved bone, or maybe more biblically like a dog that returns to his vomit, i reluctantly and half heartedly had another play with the phone...after a short prayer, i figured i would have a play like someone else suggested on one of the forums
and the news is...GOOD! for all those that believe they trashed their DP-10L while updating firmware, i managed to revive my phone !! so i figure i better do the right thing and take the time and quickly tell u all. heres what i did...
I Left it overnight. Next day removed the battery, plugged phone USB cable into Computer, noticed to my suprise "ding" sound on computer! but phone still dead. unplugged and replugged but no "ding". Even after PC was rebooted.
Windows Utility Program did not recognise the phone.
Fired up the DOS flash software. it said it used COM6 Autodetected. i said "Yes" for program to proceed. Then plugged in the battery like someone on anothe rforum suggested. still all looked dead. so decided to just leave it a while.
To my surprise, when i came back after about 5 minutes i noticed the keypad on the phone was flashing every few seconds !
Pressed power button on the phone for a moment and "charging" message came up on the display. Couldnt believe it! I noticed battery was very low. had it gone flat ? had the phone been running with a blank screen overnight ? i dont know.
Checked firmware version...now says D910.0.3.99d
And...the phone works!!
sooo...Merry Christmas...its seems God is not only alive and well and listening but has an interesting sense of humour
LOL
And main thing is there IS hope to revive a totally DEAD phone!!
as u can tell, im very happy
so i thought i should share the good news.
hope this is of help
