Hi,
I have Fritz!Box Fon ATA with 2 phones attached to it (one is cordless and second is normal phone). It sometimes happens that I answer a call at one phone but I would like to continue it using the other one (the cordless).

Is is possible to somehow switch a call between phones? Is it also possible to participate in the same call with both phones (a kind of conference)?

Thank you in advance,
Marcin Okraszewski

I don't know the Fon ATA, but if it supports the same Telefoncodes as the other FritzBox, you should be able to do so.

Switching: Press 'R' and the number of the internal phone line, pick up the other phone and drop the first.

Conference: Press 'R' and the number of the internal phone line, pick up the other phone, press 'R3' on the first phone and do your conference.

If this does not work, the ATA is different ...

Thank you for answer. But, can you tell me, what do you mean by 'R'? Is it * or #?

Best regards,

And I uderstand that Fon1 has internal number 1, and Fon2 has 2. Am I correct?

You don't have a 'R' on your phone? 'R' is the break key, it could also be marked as Flash. If there is no such key, I don't know. :noidea:

Yes, Fon1 is 1, Fon2 is 2, ... , ISDN I don't know. But that should be described in your users manual. You can also download one at http://www.avm.de/en .

I'm affraid it doesn't work. As soon as I pressed "flash" button, I was disconnected :( I also tried with a quick hook down and up (this is what flash is is doing) and it also didn't work :(

Thank you for help.

When you press 'flash' you are disconnected from the current call (it will be put on hold) and you should hear the internal free line signal of the FB. If you dial the other phone, it will ring and you should pick up. If you hang up the first phone, the call on hold will be transferred to the second phone.

By pressing flash a second time on phone 1 instead of hanging up the call on hold we picked up again.

I tried again and it still didn't work. I dialed to an echo service in FWD. When I pressed flash I heard the signal. When pressed the flash one more again I didn't hear the echo service again, but the signal. I tried it with both phones. So, I suspect the ATA may unfortunatelly work in a different way or I do something wrong :( Maybe I should provide some setting in Fritz!Box? The manual doesn't says anything about switching calls.

Thanks,
Marcin Okraszewski

Hello,

you need not change the settings of your Fritz!Box but the settings of the telephone. Obviously your phone makes a flash of 250 ms or more. This results in a final break of your connection. In order to switch the call to another line the Fritz!Box needs a flash of 80 ms approx. This can be changed in the settings of the most phones.

Good luck!

If the hint from radio_junkie will not have the expected result:

I just had a look at the manuals available at AVM and, indeed, the section with the phone commands is completely missing in the ATA manual :noidea:.

Is there somebody who can confirm that the phone commands work on the Fon ATA the same way as on the other FB Fon Boxes?

Yes - me. I did transfer calls between the two phones connected to my ATA.

It worked!! :D

Although I couldn't find settings of flash length on my phone, I was able to do it with a short hook down. I'll have to check the manual of cordless phone with the flash settings - now I can make the short hook down only with "normal" phone.

Thank you all for help!! Best regards,
