I have Fritz Box Fon Wlan.

German Firmware, Annex B.

I am trying to alter firmware German -> English

I do not know HWRevision to change firmware with asistance of ADAM2

I want to obtain English firmawre, Annex B

PLEASE SEND ME HWRevision number

i logged in with telnet and had a look.
It told me
HWRevision 61

I have Fritz WLAN bought in Germany - German firmware and Annex B

In order to change firmware I have to change BRANDING and use ADAM2 ftp.

Is your Fritz oryginal - German version firmware and AnnexB?
What number of firmware do you have? 08.04. ....... ??

Hi mil,

i have the same box like you do (-have a look at my signature downstairs), with german firmware (08.04.27) and annex b.
The work of haveaniceday (a lot of thanks to him) helped me to set the branding from ui to avm by using an archiv-file (fritz_als_avm_new.tar) from this thread.

do you think I will suceed in alternig firmware from GER to ENG (saving AnnexB)? - DID YOU DO THAT ???

I want use ADAM2 and command HWRevision and so on.... and ftp ADAM2.

I have no idea how to deal with .tar - I am "green" about .tar.

Could you help me? Can you operate .tar? I can operate ADAM2, but I have no experience with Fritz WLAN (I am only familiar with Fritz!Box Fon)

Hi mil,

you just have to put the tar-file as it is(!) into the fritz like updating with regular avm-firmware.
May be fritz say something about not supported firmware, but you can discard this.

That is all you have to do (so it was in my case, when the fritz was debranded by the tar-file i mentioned above).

For obtaining the english menue you will need this file:
fritz_als_avme_new.tar

To be prepared for any case you should get a recovery image form www.avm.de for fritz box wlan.

I have FBF WLAN
GER firmware, Annex B

2)
I ONLY download .tar file (the one you gave link abowe)

3)
I logg in Fritz -> System -> Update -> ...browse......tar !!!

4) That's all !!! - I have F!BF WLAN - ENG firmware, Annex B !!!

yes, you are right. That is the way.
(In the case I understand the above mentioned thread right, you should receive a fritz with english menue. And that is your intention?
To be prepared for any case it is better to get the recovery image from avm.)

If you are interested in how the tar-file is working and what it is doing, you can unzip (e.g. 7zip) it and have a look on it. I believe an editor like notepad is enough to see the content.

But just use the original tar-file for updating fritz!

And now I know my fault (hahaha :blonk.
There are not only german firmwares (i am german, so i always visited the german avm-pages with the german firmware)
Just visiting
the english pages
(hahaha :blonk
and get the english firmware.


At least have a look at this thread.
It is kept in english and is about the expierence of someone who wanted to convert the fb into an international version.
