The "DownstreamMarginOffset" option corresponds to the "Target signal-to-noise margin" setting (receiving direction). DownstreamMarginOffset = 0; corresponds to "maximum performance" in the web interface.
Have you ever experimented with settings left of "maximum performance"? Was there a change in the sync and if so, what value did the "DownstreamMarginOffset" option contain?

Does any change in the web interface make any difference in the sync. And if so, what value does "DownstreamMarginOffset" have for level #1 to the left? Then I would first enter the same value but negative.

If no result, then negative values are very likely to be ignored and this hack is no longer possible.

That would be my approach if my 5690 was not connected to fiber.

Ich kann vor diesem eher undokumentierten Verfahren, seine Downloadkapazität bei DSL zu 'pimpen, nur warnen; zwar habe auch ich zu Zeiten von ADSL2+ meinen Download mit der 7170 von 8500 auf knapp 12000 kbit/s erhöhen können, der erlaubte Störabstand war aber mit etwa 2dB so klein, dass die gesamte Box anfing zu schwingen. Hätte ich das damals schon gewusst, hätte ich bestimmt nicht die BNetzA mit ihrem Gerätepark ins Haus bestellt. Zum Glück trat der Fehler aber diesmal nicht wie gewünscht auf - sonst hätte ich sicher zahlen müssen...

In Italien hatte ich dieses Problem nicht, ich habe die 7590 6 Jahre lang mit dieser Modifikation ohne Fehler verwendet
