You have tried to use 1899 but are experiencing problems? Please check the following pointers:
If you have a BT line: Dial 1899 immediately followed by the onward telephone number, for example 1899 020 8282 4321.
Are you with NTL, Telewest or any other provider? Dial 0808 170 7474, wait for the voice prompt and enter the follow-on telephone number. For example: 0808 170 7474 -wait for voice prompt- 020 8282 4321.
If you hear you need to register first after dialling 1899 the system is not recognising your telephonenumber. You are possibly ringing from a different outgoing telephone number than you think (this could be the case for example if you are ringing through a PABX exchange). Try to dial 1899 again and listen to the announcement, after the announcement the automatic operator will inform you which telephone number we are receiving. You will need to register this telephonenumber to your account by logging in on our website with your customer number and registered telephone number. Please do be careful adding generic company, university and shared accommodation telephone numbers to your account as anyone with access to the shared telephone system will be able to use 1899 through your account.
Should you still be unable to use 1899 after checking the above pointers please inform us via our website and click on 'report a fault'.
