RJ45 to RJ11 wiring

Sorry for using english

I have just bought a fritzbox 7050 off ebay and I am going to convert it Annex A, English as shown in the long thread on this forum.

Now the fritzbox has an RJ45 socket for connecting to DSL I need to know how this is wired so that I can create a lead to connect RJ45 to RJ11. UK fritzboxes come with 2 adapters for this (1 for the phone network and one for ADSL)

Does any one know where I can purchase these adapters or if not do you know how these are wired?

Bert,

The middle two leads of RJ45 and the middle two leads of RJ11 should do the tric. In fact when your Fritz!Box is in a "stable" situation you could us a standard RJ11 - RJ11 cable

Thanks I hadnt thought of trying that. Do you happen to know if its the same for connecting to the PSTN network as well?

Ok I have got myself totally confused. Lack of german is really hurting me. I found on the forum this posting http://www.ip-phone-forum.de/showthread.php?t=85047&highlight=kabelbelegung

which if I iunderstand correctly looks like pins 1 and 8 of an RJ45 need to be connected to the centre pins of an RJ11 is this correct as it is different to what fritzsv suggested.

Any help suggestions.

Oh I am in the UK and want to use the the 7050 as an Annex A ADSL router and use VOIP and PSTN.

I am not sure about your box [because my cable problems were with a 7170] but as far as i can see from your box [without using a so called Y-cable] the middle pins of the RJ45 are for DSL and the outer ones [1 and 8] should be for analogue. But given your type of box i am not a 100% sure

Thanks for your help I can confirm it is the middle pins as you had said for the ADSL connection. The 7050 has a separate port for the PSTN phone system which uses (I hope) pins 1 and 8 in the UK. This was why I was confused.

I have just managed to get my fritzbox working as Annex A in english and got it to connect to the internet. Sorting out the phones will have to wait for a few days.
