you asked at the right place and I guess the answer is this post within this thread.
Here a summary in English:
- On the adsl line the o2 router uses the atm protocol with two virtual channels (vc). On top of these two channel there is a ethernet emulation layer, and on top of this the PPPoE (PPP over ethernet) protocol is used.
- So the o2/zyxel router has effectively two internet links to the outside world.
- You can see both links' ip addresses on the entry page after having logged in on the router.
- From an atm protocol perspective, these links are called 'node'.
- The first link is used for 'normal' internet traffic.
- The second link is used by the router for voip. It only works with o2 voip servers, as o2 blocks (almost) all other traffic on the second link.
- The o2 router is preconfigured to use link 2 for voip. You can set it to use the 'normal' link for sip config #5, for example. AFAIK this is only possible via the telnet interface.
- For login via telnet, the username is "admin".
- For the required setup commands, see post no 7 in this thread.
- Somehow the router has to know that you want to use sip config #5 when you make a call. For analog phones, you can set this via the browser. For ISDN phones, the phone has to be configured to use the number of sip config #5 as outgoing MSN (For Sipgate I guess this is your Sipgate ID).
- This description is without any guarantees. Someone please correct me if there is anything incorrect.
Cheers
Arny
