hi.

i do have a fritz 7140 wlan in a POTS line. everything works fine when i am using an ordinary cable from the adsl filter to the Fritz, it syncs at 12Mbps/1016Kbps.
when i am trying to connect the split cable (Y) that came with fritz, in order to get the telephone line from fon1,2 i am getting a DSL sync of 2048kbps/441kbps!!!.
the fritz has the latest firmware.
i have tried 3 different routers, different Y cables, filters, but the problem exists.
i have even tried to a friend of mine that has a similar dsl line to mine!

i am sure that i am doing something wrong but what?

hi.

i am sure that i am doing something wrong but what?

Although this is is not the right section inside the forum, I think the admin-team allows to answer here. Otherwise you might have difficulties to find your thread.
Did you buy the genuine cable together or is this a "third-party" accessory? Possibly there is a failure in the cable itself. Depending on where you live (and where the guarantee of AVM is valid) I would suggest, that you contact AVM and they might send you a replacement cable (for free, if your box is still within its first 5 years).

With this y-cable you normally can't do any failure. The "single-end" needs to be plugged into the FritzBox, the DSL-end into the DSL Filter and the Line-end into the "wall").

Maybe you write a little more details (which line are u using, which telephone standard, which connection-plugs are you using?, TAE?)

Hi.
I am using the original (Y) cable from AVM. actually i used a set of three cables, fritzes, spliters.
i do live in Greece and i am using a DSL line that provides the telephone through POTS.
this is what i am doing:
to the central socket on the wall i put a filter that has two ends, one for the dsl and one for the phone.
at that filter i do connect the two ends of the Y cable respectively and the single end to the router.

i will try to contact avm, but in the meantime if anyone has any ideas let me know.

solved.
thanks a lot
