FB 7170 / GSM Gateway. Any help available in English?

Hi Telefonmänchen,

Thanks for your support!
Sure, I have read the manual over and over again. Believe me, I really want this to work.

Well, what happens when I connect the phone to the gateway directly, I mentioned in my last post. The gateway doesn't supply power to the phone and the phone stays dead. I would need an external power supply for that configuration.

Maybe the incoming number transmitted is the GSM number. I'll try that one.

I'll post it here afterwards.

Weird...
I configure the S0 port to conduct outgoing calls via the fixed line, and somehow it keeps using the VoIP line. Somehow it does not see the ISDN network, emulated by the gateway. When I remove the VoIP number temporarily so that it can't be used anymore, I get a busy tone when calling out.

If the FritzBox don't know the used numbers (MSN), no connected phone will be able to use this connection. It's the same problem again. I don't like to repeat myself. Look at my posts above and you'll see the problem an the possible solution. Ensure to use the correct MSNs in the FritzBox setup.

In the attached .jpg you can see, where to configurate the used MSN (e.g your mobile number without leading provider number). The same MSN you have to fill in the ISDN cofiguration menu in the FritzBox. Try this first with the ISDN phone. Use the same MSN in the phone and try to do incomming and outgoing calls. If you can call in both directions set the used MSN in the FritzBox.

really EVERY field that requires a phone number is the same..
please see printscreens.
I also configured the ISDN phone with the same number.

If I missed something you said, then I'm sorry, but if I take a look at the picture in the link, I am pretty sure that all the required numbers are right.

Result of the actual configuration:
Calling out:
Dial tone -> dialing number -> silence -> busy tone after 8 seconds.

Incoming call on the GSM number of gateway:
GSM LED green (5 seconds) -> BRI1 LED green too (5 seconds) , BRI1 LED off, GSM LED off. In the meantime, I can hear the ringtone on the phone I use to call in. After the last LED goes off, I get the voicemail of the gateway sim.

OK, this looks good but I miss a device who is able to recieve the call. Add the MSN to one of the Fon-Accounts (the better way) or use the ISDN phone with the same MSN and plug it into the S0 of the FritzBox (second best, because the misconfiguration of the MSN could prevent a function). First we have to ensure a proper function of incomming an outgoing manual dialed calls. After that we can setup a call forwarding. I think, an existing forwarding rule is the reason for this curiously behavior.

Isn't that the FON account in section 3 of my printscreens?

Sure, it is. But this is the account for an ISDN-phone (see Port "Fon-S0"). If the configuration of the connected ISDN-Phone has a failure, it can't work. In this case you have two points of possible malfunction. It's the same problem if you connect a ISDN-Phone with a wrong configuration directly to the gateway.

So it's easier to use temporary a normal Fon account (1 or 2) to check the ability to call in and out. It's better to do this step by step. If you can call in and out, you can configure the call forwarding. Please check the existing forwardings and deactivate (or better delete) every forwarding for the ISDN-MSNs.

I'm giving up...
That is, for this approach.

I found out that the gateway can also be configured to connect to an S0 port. And indeed, it responds. When calling in There is a function in the gateway to forward the incoming call. I will try to figure out that way, since I can't figure out the construction with the Y-cable.
Thanks anyway so far!:)
