[eine neue idee] edonkey auf fritzbox

edonkey wird schwierig... als Clients bieten sich aus meiner Sicht nur amule und mldonkey an. Problem bei mldonkey: In OCaml programmiert und das soll wohl recht interessant sein beim Crosscompiling, braucht relativ viel Speicher ist aber dafür ein echter Tausendsasser - amule, naja, ich weiss nicht ... Speicher braucht er jedenfalls auch ne Menge... Alles in allem vermutlich keine lohnende Sache, die Box würde vermutlich sehr oft hängen/neustarten wg. zuwenig Speicher evtl. gehts in Verbindung mit Swap-Speicher.

Ich hatte den amuled schon mal auf der 7170 laufen. Er ist über Nacht gelaufen und hat auch brav ein 100MB-File runtergeladen.
Swap ist auf jeden Fall erforderlich. Als Speicher reicht ein USB-Stick (zumindest mit meinem compact patch).
Allerdings müsste man für ernsthaften Betrieb einiges an CPU-Last und Speicherverbrauch optimieren. Z.B. wird zum hashen ein Part (9.5MB) immer komplett in den Speicher geladen...

Ganz so einfach ist es nicht.
Das war vor ca. 4 Monaten. Ich muss erst mal mit dem aktuellen Stand nochmal probieren, ob ich es wieder so hinbekomme. Außerdem hatte ich damals DSMOD auf der Box und aktuell die normale 29.04.49 - ich weiß nicht, obs darauf überhaupt läuft. Und von "Freetz" gibts ja immer noch keinen richtigen Stand, nur SVN-Snapshots. (Meine Box ist keine reine Spielwiese, sondern "produktiv" im Einsatz...)

Ich will halt hier keine Halbwahrheiten posten.
Mit der Firmware gehts schon los. Wenn ich mit der Freetz-Buildumgebung ein Programm compiliere und auf der Box ausführe, gibts eine Fehlermeldung

undefined reference to `_Unwind_SjLj_Register'

Ich hab jetzt Freetz draufgeschrubbt, und damit läuft das HelloWorld. Ebenso das Hello-wxWidgets. (wxWidgets ist die Klassenbibliothek, die aMule verwendet.) Na, sehn wir mal weiter.

Also ohne Freetz gehts nicht. Und mit der 7050 schon gar nicht. Erstens hat sie kein USB, und zweitens nur 16 MB RAM. Und aMule ist ein Speicherfresser...

So, der amuled startet zumindest mal. Aber er beendet sich nach ein paar Minuten ohne sinnvolle Meldung oder Logeintrag.
Mal sehen, ob ich den GDB auch noch ans laufen kriege.

Ich habe gerade mit dem virtuellen Speicher rumexperimentiert, und festgestellt, dass er nicht funktioniert.
Auch bei aktiviertem Swap müllt die Box ab einer bestimmten Speicherbelegung einfach ab, anstatt zu swappen. Ich fürchte, so wird das nichts. Und wenn man auch noch am Kernel rumschrauben muss, wird es wirklich haarig.

Note that it require a lot of resources, so you need to enable a swap file, and you need samba too

MlDonkey (2.9.4) for fritz vers. 1.0

So, this is the package
The ritual disclaimer....this invalid warranty, use it at your own risk, CANNOT BE SOLD (this is due to some italian user that sell modified fritz:toilet, etc etc....

Requirements:

Samba (server or mount), apache/lighttpd (not sure really needed), ifconfig, and a swap file

I've set it for use a range of port from 6870 to 6874 (TCP) and from 6874 to 6878 (UDP), but you can adapt this range by yourself, if other ports needed

After done these settings, you can proceed by unpacking the folder in your storage, and, from telnet, give:

cd /var/media/ftp/your/storage/mldonkey
ln -s /var/media/ftp/your/storage/mldonkey/.mldonkey /var/mod/root/.mldonkey
./mlnet

After (+ or -) 2 minutes, you will receive this message

[dMain] Core started

When you see it, your donkey will be started (note: it is very slow to start, because it need a lot of resources).
Now you can hardly kill your telnet by the X key, don't use ctrl+c, cause it kill the donky core
If it works propely, you can put the script in your debug.cfg or rc.custom for the autostart on boot
You can reach mldonkey web interface at fritz.box:4080, or you can also use the sancho gui software.
