Help please, I don't speak German..yet, except for a few words.
I have DSL service with T-punkt and am using the T-com Speedport W 700W wireless router with no problem.
Today, I tried to install the Speedport W 100XR as a repeater to extend my range to my top floors of my home.
T-punkt told me to disconnect my PC ethernet line from the router and plug it into the repeater. After doing this I was able to access the configuration menu okay. I then input my SSID and selected a channel number. I saw no option to enter my WPA password when doing this. I then removed the ethernet cable and plugged it back into my router. I then moved my repeater to its location. I attempted to access internet with my wireless laptop. I noticed I now have two SSIDs to choose from. The original signal, which was weak, and a newer signal very strong, but not secure. However, though the signal is strong and it shows my laptop connected, it will not allow me to use the internet.
What am I doing wrong or what have I not forgotten to do?
What can I do to secure my repeater?
thank you,
Greg
