Sorry, my German is limited on 17 words so I will place a question in English.

My ISP is now offering VoIP with one error. Looks like they use somekind of close circle, like some local lan or VPN, therefore I can't connect same as I am connecting to let say betamax clones. My ISP has SIP server with IP 10.97.XXX.XXX and using port 5060.

ISP is giving some stupid modem with pre-instaled PSTN line out for analog phones but as I have all my phones ISDN and FRITZ 7050 with them, I would like to find the way to joint what I have and my ISP's voip.

Any idea?

PS: no need to tell that my ISP is very un-friendly for all HW that is not provided by them.

Really no ideas  ?

Hi madmitch,

it will be quite difficult to answer you question if we don´t know what type of protocoll your isp is using. Is it PPTP (VPN) or direct IP access?

Is it used to acces the internet, or just to access the voip-server?
Please provide some more input.

Bye,

As they (ISP) are very misterious about sharing technical information I will try to explain as good as possible.

If you want to use VoIP they give you SAGEM F@st™ 3344 modem - never works as it should. I am using it to access net, VoIP and IPTV. As I understood they already pre-install 2 LAN ports for internet (PC), 2 ports for IPTV and FON for analog telephones. When I was asking them (trust me, I know now all in tech. division) they told me I can use some IP phones and must add the following details in:
IP: 10.97.253.XXX (private IP as I know)
SIP Registrar: voip.siol or sip.voip.siol (not sure)
Proxy: mcg.voip.siol
and Port 5060

As this modem NEVER works, they will give me new one Ganymede 822+ modem with 4 LAN ports where 2 are for net, one for TV and one for VoIP. With this new modem, they are giving you vigortalk Interface for analog phone. I hope there will be a possibilities to join this Ganymede 822+ and my dear Fritz.

I hope now you have better overview in my problem. If you need some aditional info, I will try to get them.

If you just need the VoIP Services for your phones, then this should not be a problem. You can configure the FritzBox for direct IP Access. So the only thing you have to do is connect the Box (LAN A) to one of the Ethernet Ports of the provided router and configure the Fritzbox for LAN Access. After that you can configure the SIP Parameters on the Fritzbox and hook up your telephone.

wireless0815, this is not that simple as this modem has predefinired ports, 1&2 for data - net, 3 for IPTV and 4 for Telephone. So only on port 4 I can get SIP data. As I can connect both PCs on WLAN I was thinking maybe to connect port 4 from Modem to LAN B on FRITZ (LAN A is busy with normall connection to modem for internet - like router).

Anyone know, will this be doable and if yes, how should I configure fritz?
If not :beerdigu:
