Almost dead (?) Fritz!Box 7170

Completely re-flashing the Box with ruKernelToolfor for every update is of course a pain, as all settings are lost.

When you "just" upgrade the FW (but not want to change the Annex from B to A) then you can remove the checkbox at "clear mtd3+4" in the ruKernelTool (on the tab "Upload-Parameter"). To do so, you have to activate the "Expertenmodus" (Expert Mode). -> It can be found in the menu "Einstellungen" (Settings).

Can we save the settings (Einstellungen sichern) and use this file to recover the settings in the new Firmware version ?

It should work, as long as the "gap" between the old and new FW version is not too large. And only if you upgrade to the same type of FW, i.e. from Final to Final or from Lab-Version to Lab-Version.

Can anyone help me how to flash or update firmware for FritzBox Fon Wlan.
I've been looking on the forum but it is very difficult since not understand German.
Regulary update fail, also with ruKernelTool update fail (firmware was from AVM site)

Which firmware version did you try to flash?

The original Firmware has been 08.01.18, is that right?

If you tried to flash the latest firmware (08.04.49 english), it could be fact, that the step between the versions is to great.....

I try with version 08.04.34 - German, Austria/Schweiz version 08.04.15, Austria/Schweiz version 08.04.01.
All unsuccessful
