Dear Friends,
I see that Sinus154 Komfort is one of most popular routers in Germany. I think this thead can be interesting for you.
It is possible to reflash Sinus154 Komfort onto SMC2804wbrp-g. Both ones are identical regarding hardware.
Here is procedure:
At the beginning you have to replace boot loader from v1.6 (Sinus) to v1.3 (SMC)
There are two methods:
-1st one is to remove flash chip and reprogram first 128kb with new contents in the external programmer (I use willem programmer)
-2nd one is to add RS232 port to your router. You can notice that router mainboard has empty place for RS232 port. Near that place you can find 2x5 pin connector. I used this web site to get to know pinouts.

Like you see, it is easy to add to the mensioned connector an additional RS232 converter made on popular MAX232 (Maxim). Now you can replace boot loader via terminal console. I suggest free of charge console, called Tera Term Pro.

Set transmission speed 115200 bauds and proper Com port. For safety reason save your configuration in the Setup/Save Setup menu.
If it works properly you can observe how your router works in the console!
Just after router start (switch one off and on) try to hit any key, then press ! key and you will get in the supervisor console. See it (live example)

Press U, select 0 and confirm it by Y (case sensitive)
BE CAREFULL. Boot code area will be erased. Do not switch your router off , restart one or close terminal console. Your router can be bricked!!!
Okay, Shall we say you know what you do. In the console you will see CCCC
marks meanig that router is waiting for boot code transfer via Xmodem protocol. Select
menu file File/Transfer/Xmodem/Send and give path for new boot loader file.
Transfer will start.
When something goes wrong and transfer stops in half way, do not panic!!! Do not switch your router off , restart one or close terminal console. Your router can be bricked!!!
Just abort transfer (how to message there is in the console) and select U, 0 , Y again
When progress indicator is 100% it is almost certain that everything is okay.
Now you can restart router and replace main firmware via recovery web screen (reset whilst switching router on).
If something went badly and your router is bricked the only chance to bring one to life is flash reprogramming in the external programmer. I did it once (fortunatelly)

In the same way you can restore your original boot loader. I have noticed that loader 1.3 (smc) can support sinus firmware . Sinus firmware has the BNR154KOM signature inside whilst smc firmware has BRNW signature. You have to change signature when you get "model mismatch" message.
Via console you can program mac adress also! Just hit enter key instead of ! key. You will see yet another menu. Example below
